Academic Life ~ Cross-Registration
Cross-Registration
with Other Institutions
Cooperative arrangements between General Seminary and several other schools open most elective course offerings at these institutions to full-time General students. General students wishing to take courses at Union Theological Seminary, New York Theological Seminary, Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, Drew University Divinity School, or Fordham University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences may register for them at General. A special arrangement exists with the Department of Urban Studies at Hunter College. A special arrangement with the Columbia University Department of Religion exists for doctoral candidates. Arrangements may also be made for study at Jewish Theological Seminary, the CUNY Graduate Center, and Drew University.
No foundation course may be taken at another institution without the written permission of the Sub-Dean and (if that course is also a required course at the other institution) the written permission of the academic dean of that institution. Students from institutions with which General has a cross-registration arrangement may take foundation courses at General with written permission from their institution and the General instructor. Consult with the Registrar for details.
