Named Endowed Funds

A Note on Named Endowment Funds
General Seminary welcomes bequests for its general purposes, or for restricted purposes as designated by the donor. Occasionally, a donor may wish to establish a named memorial fund for a specific purpose—a professorship, fellowship or scholarship. By policy of the Board of Trustees, the Seminary has set minimum levels for establishing such named restricted funds. These levels ensure that—at the Board-approved endowment annual spending rate of 5%—there is revenue sufficient to meet or exceed 50% of the annual cost of the professorship, fellowship or scholarship.
