Bark, meow, chirp, roar! GTS will bless the beloved pets of our community, pets of our Chelsea neighbors, and all those who care for them, at the annual Blessing of the Animals liturgy on Sunday, September 30, at 4:00pm, on the lawn near the Chapel (or indoors, if weather requires).
Will your pet surprise the Rev. Robyn Neville, who will preside for the liturgy and bless creatures great and small?
Dogs, cats, hamsters, rabbits, gerbils, birds, snakes, walking sticks, all are welcome!
O God, you have looked upon your creation and declared it good: We thank you for the animals with whom we share this earth and particularly those which you have given into our care. We pray that you will guard them and all living creatures, tending to their necessities, relieving their suffering, and protecting them from exploitation. Help us to see in our pets the beauty and glory of your creative hand. As you called St. Francis to proclaim the oneness of all your works, grant to us gentle and generous spirits, that we, like him, may be instruments of your loving providence and peace; in Christ’s name. Amen.
