AT320-Supervision for Spiritual Direction
AT 320 — SUPERVISION FOR INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP SPIRITUAL DIRECTION
Supervision is key to effective and healthy ministries of spiritual direction. This course provides supervision for ministries of spiritual direction and guidance to individuals and/or groups. Activities include peer review of case studies and/or verbatims, an individual supervision meeting with the instructor, related reading, and guidance in methods of forming and facilitating ongoing peer supervision or support groups in one’s own community.
Pre- or co-requisite: AT 300/500, AT 305/505, AT 310/510, or permission by the Director of the Center for Christian Spirituality. Students must be actively offering spiritual direction or have the possibility of engaging in spiritual conversations with others outside of the seminary community. The course is open to outside spiritual directors, but is not open to auditors. Enrollment limit is 6 students, and the course can be taken more than once.
