Vision Statement

Rooted in the Episcopal Church and nourished by common prayer, sacramental life, and the theological inheritance of the Anglican tradition, The General Theological Seminary forms faithful and skilled leaders for the building up of Christ’s Body and the service of God’s kingdom in the world. From our historic home on Chelsea Square in New York City, we extend across the nation and beyond through a distinctive model of distributed and formational contextual theological education that integrates online learning, faculty-mentor teams, and residential intensives.
